Google shows the mid-market exchange rate. Most remittance services pay a lower rate and keep the difference (the FX margin), on top of the fee. That is why you should compare how many pesos arrive, not just the fee.
How often is this table updated?
Once a day with the most recent public quotes for transfers from the United States to Mexico. Each service can change its pricing at any time, so confirm the final amount in its app before sending.
Should I wait for the dollar to go up before sending?
Nobody can predict the exchange rate. The 30-day, 90-day and one-year chart shows whether the dollar is high or low compared with its recent average, but the gap between services on the same day usually matters more than waiting a few days. If your family needs the money, send with the service that delivers the most pesos today.
Is it better to send online or at a store counter?
In general, online transfers to a bank account have lower fees and margins than cash transfers at a counter. If your family needs cash, also compare the cost of picking it up at a store.
